I've owned three Humax devices now. Both the new one and the two refurbished units have proven to be quite dependable. There were a few times I reached out to customer support, and let me tell ya, they were fantastic. Their replies were quick, and they helped me sort out issues that weren't really related to the machines themselves, but other factors.

"What a letdown these boxes are!"
What a letdown these boxes are! They just don’t manage to capture scheduled recordings. It looks like you can’t watch one channel while recording another—how handy is that? If you can swing a Sky Subscription, just do it, 'cause this is a pretty limited option. Most shows can be found on other streaming services, so you might as well grab an Amazon Fire TV Cube. Best bang for your buck!

"Terrible Support from Humax"
I purchased a Humax Aura 1TB and right from the start, I faced problems with pixel quality, high frequency issues, and keeping a steady internet connection, even though my wifi was strong. The connection to the box kept dropping. I reached out to Humax's customer service, and they suggested I do a factory reset. That didn’t help at all, so the next thing they did was send me an attenuator, which was meant to tweak the signal strength coming into the box to hopefully enhance the picture quality. But guess what? That didn’t work either. I requested a refund, but they insisted I had to accept a replacement box first. They sent me a complicated form to fill out and told me to attach my invoice to arrange for the new box and the pickup of the faulty one. This was set for 3.02.2023, and I was told I’d get a confirmation about the collection time from the third-party service. When I didn’t hear anything by midday on the collection day, I called Humax again to check on it. They wouldn’t contact the courier and told me to just wait until 5 pm since collections are between 9 am and 5 pm. I ended up wasting my entire day, sending countless emails and making numerous phone calls, and I still have a £219.00 useless white elephant sitting in my living room. From my experience, Humax seems more interested in taking your money than in providing any real customer service or solving problems. This company is terrible—stay away if you can. If I could give them a 0-star rating, I absolutely would.

"Helpful and Efficient Service"
We faced some issues with downloading On Demand, so we shot an email to Humax on January 6. Luri responded super fast and recommended a solution that, sadly, didn’t do the trick. We reached out to him once more, and he provided additional guidance that we followed, and it finally worked! Absolutely brilliant, and big thanks to Luri for the quick assistance.

"Problem with picture freezing"
I ran into a problem where my picture kept freezing up. The folks at Humax customer service mentioned that my signal strength was too high at 100%. So, I grabbed an adjustable attenuator from Amazon for just £4 and dialed the signal down to around 90%. Everything's working great now! Gotta say, Humax's customer service was top-notch.

"Humax Freeview kept powering on by itself."
A few weeks back, I purchased a Humax Freeview recorder, and it had this annoying habit of turning on by itself. I reached out to the support team, and after exchanging a couple of emails, the guidance they provided fixed the issue. Turns out, I just had to do a power cycle (switch everything off for a few minutes and then turn it back on). I had to ask about that as well. Their response was super friendly and quick, too.
